Termite Warranty Expiring — Renewal and Continuation Options

Most termite warranties in California are 1-year warranties that can be renewed annually through a re-inspection. Some subterranean (Termidor) warranties extend 3–10 years with annual inspection monitoring. Review your warranty documentation to understand the renewal terms.

Warranty renewal typically involves an annual inspection to confirm no new activity in previously treated areas and no new infestation elsewhere in the structure. The renewal inspection is usually significantly less expensive than the original treatment.

If a warranty lapses and new activity is found, you're back to starting a new treatment — there's no penalty, but you do lose the continuity of documented treatment history that can be valuable in real estate transactions.

For Termidor (subterranean) warranty maintenance, annual inspections are required to keep the warranty active. These inspections also catch any new subterranean pressure from changing irrigation, new construction nearby, or soil movement that may create new access points.
