Termite Treatment and Pregnancy — What You Need to Know

Tent fumigation (Vikane gas): pregnant individuals must vacate along with all household members during fumigation (72 hours). After proper aeration and clearance, Vikane leaves zero residue — re-entry is safe. The 72-hour absence ensures full dissipation before return.

Heat treatment: no chemical exposure — purely thermal. Pregnant individuals must vacate during the 6–8 hour treatment period (due to heat, not chemical exposure). Return home same day after ventilation.

Orange oil (d-limonene): natural citrus-based compound. Classified as minimal toxicity to mammals. Treated areas should be avoided during application. No need to vacate the home, though moving to another area of the house during treatment is a reasonable precaution.

Termidor soil treatment: applied outside in soil. No interior chemical exposure. Pregnant individuals can remain indoors during treatment. Avoid contact with wet treated soil until dry.
